The Endometriosis and Fertility Clinic started using MYMOP (Measure Yourself Medical Outcome Profile), which was developed by Dr Charlotte Patterson for the Medical Research Council. It was devised to show evidence of success from a general approach to medical treatment. The idea is to compare the success or failure of the medical practice to patients with different types of treatments for different conditions. However, without a computerised system to record and monitor it becomes a very difficult mechanism to use. Clinic-Aid was adapted to record and to monitor the MYMOP outcomes and we now have a wealth of information about our clients and how they have improved (or not) over time with treatment. We can also see if they have reduced the amount of painkillers they have taken and hence shown that nutritional therapy can be a cost saving exercise. Basically, the client is given a blank MYMOP form, which the complete with their name and they select two symptoms and one activity they wish to monitor. They also record their sense of wellbeing. At the future consultations they are presented with their personal follow up form, where they have to record new values for their originally selected symptoms, activities and sense of wellbeing.

We did adapt the original MYMOP2 form as we added some questions about the medication they were taking, the nutritional supplements they found helpful, and the foods that they were avoiding. This information has allowed the Endometriosis and Fertility Clinic to submit research posters at a variety of international conferences including the American Society for Reproductive Medicine and the World Endometriosis Conference.

Much credence is being placed on "evidence based treatments" this package delivers you with the tools needed for you to record the evidence of your treatments and practice.
